About Me |
Hello All!
My name is Daniela and I am thrilled to be TIG’s Tread Lightly Program Assistant. I admire what TIG does in helping to incite change in this world by empowering youth to become active participants in impacting the future of their world, and I am excited to be a part of the team! Moreover, in working with Tread Lightly, I am looking forward to helping engage both educators and youth in bringing to light issues surrounding the environment and climate change.
A little more ‘411’ on me:
A passion for human rights and a firm desire to devote my future towards addressing the concerns of the world led me to pursue a Double Honors Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English, a Minor in Criminology and a Master of Arts in International Relations. More recently I also completed a specialized program on genocide and human rights offered by the International Institute of Genocide and Human Rights Studies through the Zoryan Institute. I love to learn and I consider myself a ‘student of the world’ because there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t discover something new and interesting!
I was born in South Africa and in my youth I had the privilege of living in the Philippines, the U.K., and Costa Rica. I have traveled to a number of different countries, and I continue to take every opportunity to travel whenever and wherever I can. I love exploring other cultures, reading books based on true events, and volunteering my time to various organizations for different causes.
I am excited to start a new chapter with TIG!!!
“Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible.”
